If you are encountering problems with a Heritage Asset then Listed Buildings and Conservation Planning will almost certainly be able to help.

OVERVIEW

Listed Buildings and Conservation Planning Ltd. based in Eastern England, provides a comprehensive range of services nationally, relating to historic heritage including:

  • Listed buildings;
  • Locally listed buildings within and without conservation areas;
  • Ancient Monuments, both standing and underground;
  • Conservation Areas including Country House Conservation Areas;
  • Listed Historic Parks and Gardens;
  • Industrial Archaeology;
  • Archaeological Deposits;
  • Battlefields;
  • Great House Estates (registered for Capital Gains Tax exemption);
  • Marine Archaeology;
  • Unregistered Heritage Assets including:
    1. Buildings neither on a Statutory List nor a Local List;
    2. Gardens and parks neither on a Statutory List nor a Local List;
    3. Historically significant urban and rural areas;
    4. Undesignated archaeology

The Government has published Planning Policy Statement 5 which categorises the above under the generic name of Heritage Assets.

We advise upon PPS5, especially its new requirements and the terminology now employed, which are additional to, rather than a replacement of, existing requirements.

All applications for listed building consent or conservation area consent or planning permission where a Heritage Asset is involved must be validated by a Heritage Statement.

We specialise in preparing these assessments as adequate guidance as to appropriate format and contents has yet to be published.
This necessitates negotiations with the relevant Local Planning Authority on a case by case basis.
